Michael Swanwick (michaelswanwick.com) is one of the most interesting and unpredictable writers in science fiction today. He is the author of eight novels and five major collections of short fiction. Swanwick lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Marianne Porter.
F. Brett Cox is a writer and teacher. He is the Chair of the Department of English and Communications at Norwich University in Northfield, VT.
Jeanne Beckwith (jeannebeckwith.com) is a award-winning playwright who for the past few years has worked with Lost Nation Theater in Montpelier, Vermont. She teaches at Norwich University in Northfield, VT.
Dragon Press Bookstore (www.dragonpress.com) is located 4 miles east of the Northway (I-87) of exit 31. Amtrak service to Westport, New York is available from Albany and Montreal; there is one train a day.
There are overnight accomodations available (see website for links), October 8-9 is the height of the fall foliage season, and in addition the Boquet Valley Studio Tour is Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, 10AM to 6PM, featuring Edward Cornell, Kevin Raines, Alison Weld, and others, and well worth it. There are even other bookstores in the area, even one in walking distance.
