Dragon Press is a family brand, which began in 1973 as my late husband David Hartwell’s bookselling operation. It was a publisher of poetry, science fiction & science fiction criticism.
We published such authors as Samuel R. Delany and Philip K. Dick. We operated two magazines, The Little Magazine (poetry), and The New York Review of Science Fiction (criticism and reviews).
We also operated a bookstore in Westport, New York.
Kathryn Cramer joined Dragon Press in 1984 as an editor of The Little Magazine and co-founded and edited NYRSF.
Dragon Press ceased operations after the death of David Hartwell in 2016.
It is our intention to revive the family brand as a family enterprise in the form of a retro-futurist AI-driven design studio and innovation consultancy.
